Why I Use AI for Social Media
I post on social media almost every day. It is tiring. Some days I have no ideas. My brain feels empty.
Then I start using AI for this. It change everything. Now I make posts in minutes, not hours.
But here is the thing. Bad prompts give bad posts. You must know how to ask. In this post I share my best prompts. They work for me every time.
Let me show you.
Prompts for Post Ideas
First problem is always ideas. What to post today? This is where I start.
Try this prompt:
> "Give me 10 post ideas for [your topic]. My audience is [describe them]. Make ideas that get comments and shares."
I found that when I add my audience, ideas get much better. AI needs to know who reads your posts.
Another good one:
> "I run a [type of business]. Give me 5 content ideas that teach something useful. Keep them short and simple."
Teaching posts do very well. People like to learn small things fast.
Prompts for Instagram Captions
Instagram is all about caption. A good caption make people stop and read.
This prompt help me a lot:
> "Write 3 Instagram captions for a photo about [describe photo]. Make them short. Add a question at the end. Use a friendly tone."
The question part is key. When you ask something, people comment. More comments mean more reach.
For a more casual style, I use:
> "Write a fun Instagram caption about [topic]. Sound like a real person, not a brand. Add 2 emojis."
I say "not a brand" because AI sometimes sound too much like advertisement. This fixes it.
Prompts for LinkedIn
LinkedIn is different. Here people want value and stories. Not jokes.
My favorite prompt for LinkedIn:
> "Write a LinkedIn post about [lesson you learned]. Start with a strong first line that grabs attention. Use short paragraphs. End with a question."
The first line is very important on LinkedIn. People only see one or two lines before "see more". So the hook must be strong.
I also use this one:
> "Turn this idea into a LinkedIn story post: [your idea]. Make it personal and honest. Keep it under 200 words."
Personal stories work best on LinkedIn. People connect with real experience.
Prompts for Twitter and X
Twitter needs short and punchy. No time for long stuff.
Try this:
> "Write 5 short tweets about [topic]. Each under 200 characters. Make them clear and easy to share."
For threads, I use:
> "Write a Twitter thread with 6 tweets about [topic]. First tweet must hook the reader. Number each tweet."
Threads get more views than single tweets. In my experience, the first tweet decide everything. If it is boring, nobody reads the rest.
Prompts for Repurposing Content
This is my secret trick. Do not make new content all the time. Reuse old content instead.
This prompt save me many hours:
> "Take this blog post and turn it into 5 social media posts for different platforms. [paste your content]"
One blog post becomes many posts. Very smart. Very fast.
Another one I love:
> "Turn this long post into a short punchy version for Instagram. Keep the main point. Make it easy to read on phone."
My Tips to Get Better Results
Here are things I learn after using AI a long time.
- Always tell AI your tone. Say "friendly" or "professional" or "funny".
- Give example of your old post. AI copy your style better this way.
- Ask for many options. Then pick the best. Do not use first result blindly.
- Edit the output. AI gives you 80 percent. You add the last 20 percent.
I never post AI content without checking it. Sometimes AI say strange things. Sometimes it sound too robotic. Your job is to fix that.
Final Words
AI will not replace you. But it help you work faster. Much faster.
When I started, I spend two hours on one week of posts. Now I do it in 30 minutes. That is real time saved.
Start with the prompts above. Change them for your own needs. Test what works for your audience.
Every audience is different. What works for me maybe not work for you. So try, check the numbers, and improve.
Good luck with your social media. You got this.
