Why I Use Claude for My Work

I write a lot. I also do much research for my posts. Claude AI helps me with both.

Claude is made by a company called Anthropic. It is a chat tool like ChatGPT. But I found Claude very good for long text and careful thinking.

In this post I share how I use it. These are simple things. You can try them today.

Give Claude a Clear Job

The biggest lesson I learn is this. Claude works better when you tell it who to be.

I don't just say "write about coffee." That gives boring text.

Instead I say something like this:

"You are a friendly food writer. Write a short blog intro about morning coffee. Keep it warm and simple."

Now Claude knows the job. The output feels much better.

So always give a role. Give a goal. Give a style. Three simple things.

Break Big Tasks Into Small Steps

Sometimes I need a full article. I don't ask for everything at once.

I ask step by step. First I ask for an outline. I check the outline. Then I ask Claude to write each part.

This way I keep control. The text stays close to what I want. And I fix problems early.

Here is my normal flow:

• Ask for outline first
• Fix the outline myself
• Ask Claude to write section by section
• Ask for one final edit at the end

This method saves me time. It also gives cleaner writing.

Use Claude for Research the Smart Way

Claude is good for research. But you must be careful.

AI can make mistakes. It can give facts that sound true but are wrong. This is called hallucination.

So I never trust one answer blindly. I use Claude to start, not to finish.

Here is what I do. I ask Claude to explain a topic in simple words. Then I ask it for key points to check. After that I search the real sources myself.

Good research prompt looks like this:

"Explain how solar panels work in simple words. Then give me five main facts I should double check."

Now I have a summary and a checklist. Very useful.

Paste Long Text and Ask Questions

Claude can read very long text. This is one big strong point.

I paste reports, articles, or notes. Then I ask questions about them.

For example I paste a long study. I ask, "What are the three main ideas here?" Claude gives me a short answer.

I also use it to make summaries. I paste a boring long email. I ask for a short version. Done in seconds.

This saves me many hours each week.

Make Your Writing Sound Like You

I don't want robot text. I want my own voice.

So I give Claude examples. I paste two or three old things I wrote. Then I say, "Write in this same style."

Claude copies the tone well. This is one of my favorite tricks.

You can also tell it small rules. Like "use short sentences" or "no big words." Claude listens to these.

Fix and Improve Old Text

Claude is not only for new writing. It is great for editing too.

I paste my draft. I ask for a cleaner version. I ask it to fix grammar. I ask it to cut boring parts.

Sometimes I ask, "Make this more clear but keep my voice." That works very well.

In my experience, editing with Claude is faster than editing alone.

Ask for Different Options

When I feel stuck, I ask for choices.

I say, "Give me five title ideas." Or "Write this intro in three different ways."

Then I pick the best one. Or I mix parts from many.

This is good for headlines, hooks, and email subject lines. More options mean better final work.

Small Habits That Help

Here are small things I learned over time:

• Be clear about length. Say "200 words" not "short."
• Tell Claude what to avoid. It follows this well.
• If answer is not good, don't start over. Just say "try again but shorter."

These small habits make big difference.

Final Thoughts

Claude AI is now part of my daily work. It helps me write faster. It helps me research smarter.

But remember, it is a helper. Not a boss. You still need to think and check.
